The Coalition on Human Needs is an alliance of
national organizations working together to promote
public policies that address the needs of low-income and
other vulnerable populations.
CHN's members
include civil rights, religious, labor, and advocacy
organizations concerned with the well being of
low-income individuals, children, women, the elderly,
and people with disabilities. CHN helps more than 200
national and grassroots organizations work together to
raise awareness about and support for issues affecting
poor and vulnerable populations in our country. Staff
members track dozens of issues and help other
organizations stay on top of new
developments.
CHN also acts as an information
bridge, enabling organizations to share resources and
expertise. Our Welfare Reauthorization Project continues
to be a vehicle for strategy and information-sharing for
hundreds of organizations in Washington, DC and across
the country.
CHN tracks a wide variety of human
needs issues at the federal and state level and
provides members and the general public with federal
analyses, news reports, Congressional updates, and other
breaking information.
