| The Social Services Block Grant (known as SSBG or Title XX) is a general block grant program that can be used by the states to fund a wide variety of social service programs. States use SSBG to provide services to more than 13 million individuals in need. Services funded through the program include adoption, day care, employment services, family planning, housing, transportation, and many others. The $1.7 billion program is funded through the annual Labor-HHS-Education appropriations bill.
