If Congress does nothing, indiscriminate across-the-board federal cuts starting March 1 will harm millions of people, according to Deborah Weinstein, executive director of the Coalition on Human Needs. “These cuts are dangerous, unnecessary and unwise. It is simply unjustifiable to deny children and seniors food, throw people out of work, and push families towards homelessness just to protect low taxes for high-income people.  And yet some in Congress seem prepared to make that terrible choice.”
