2013 marks the 50th anniversary of the March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom. A half-century ago hundreds of thousands of brave civil rights

activists joined the Reverend Martin Luther King Jr., the venerable John Lewis, and others to demand dignity and justice for all. One of the demands of that march was for a minimum wage high enough to secure a healthy and vibrant nation of workers who could provide for their families and participate in the nation’s prosperity.
