SUMMARY:FRAC: National Day of Action
DESCRIPTION:On Wednesday\, April 22\, join the Food Research & Action Center (FRAC)\, Feeding America\, Center on Budget and Policy Priorities (CBPP)\, Center for American Progress (CAP)\, and other national allies and advocates across the country in a National Day of Action urging Congress and the Administration to enact SNAP benefit boosts in the next COVID-19 relief package. Recent reports indicate that the next package would include assistance for businesses and healthcare efforts\, but not SNAP — we must insist that individuals and families need immediate relief\, too. \nThe next COVID-19 relief bill must include the following SNAP priorities: \n1. boost SNAP maximum benefits by 15 percent;\n2. increase the minimum SNAP benefit from $16 to $30; and\n3. suspend all SNAP administrative rules that would terminate or cut benefits. \nThese temporary provisions must continue until the economy improves. The provisions will not only help households put food on the table during this crisis\, but will also help to stimulate the economy. \nCheck out FRAC’s COVID-19 Updates page for more resources on the Day of Action\, which will be added leading up to Wednesday. \nGet vocal on social: Join FRAC\, Feeding America\, CBPP\, and CAP for a Twitterstorm this Wednesday from 3:00-4:00 p.m. EDT as part of the Day of Action. \nClick to tweet: On Wed\, 4/22 @3PM EDT\, join @fractweets\, our national partners and other advocates for a Day of Action Twitterstorm urging Congress and the Administration to boost SNAP benefits and help families put food on the table during #COVID19. bit.ly/fracCOVID-19

SUMMARY:YWCA Stand Against Racism National Tele-Town Hall
DESCRIPTION:Voting rights\, census participation\, and civic engagement are\, and have always been\, essential to racial justice. As the COVID-19 pandemic disrupts all aspects of life\, it is also exacerbating the impact of systemic and structural racism on communities of color across health\, education\, justice\, and economic sectors. In this moment\, our collective efforts to secure full access at the ballot box\, to ensure a fair and complete Census count\, and to stand against racism—whenever and wherever it happens—are more important than ever. \nDuring YWCA’s annual Stand Against Racism campaign\, we are thrilled to be hosting a National Tele-Town Hall with our partners: Black Women’s Roundtable\, League of Women Voters\, The Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights\, National Domestic Workers Alliance\, Supermajority\, United State of Women\, and When We All Vote. Together we will: \n\nExplore the issues with national leaders in the movement for racial justice and gender equity\nLearn best practices and build skills  for effective civic engagement amidst social distancing\nMotivate and inspire our nationwide networks for the work of racial justice\n\nJoin us!
