Coming Thursday, July 13: CHN’s annual Human Needs Hero Reception!

|

July 7, 2023

After years of living remotely, CHN is back in person next week with our live-and-in-person Human Needs Hero Reception. This year, we will be honoring someone very close to our heart — an exceptional champion who has spent decades fighting for human needs — our very own Sr. Richelle Friedman, who stepped down in December after serving as CHN’s Director of Public Policy from 2006 to 2022.

The event will take place 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the beautiful Solidarity Room of the AFL-CIO, 815 Black Lives Matter Plaza NW, Washington, DC 20006 (formerly 815 16th Street, NW in Washington, D.C.)

If you are not in D.C. and cannot attend the event in person, you can still show your support remotely by becoming a sponsor. Your sponsorship (either through your organization or as an individual) will make a huge difference to us. More information, including details about sponsorship levels, can be found at our Human Needs Hero website. You can give directly online using the form on the website. If you prefer to send a check, please print out this form for instructions.

Before, during, and now after the pandemic, CHN has brought advocates together to meet the needs of people with low incomes, communities of color, people with disabilities, the aging, women, children, and families, and other vulnerable populations. Now more than ever we know the policy solutions we advocate for are effective. But they are seriously threatened. We must defend and expand human needs programs, and not allow extremists in Congress to hold the most vulnerable hostage as they advance an agenda benefiting only the very wealthiest and giant corporations.

Your support for CHN’s 2023 Human Needs Hero Reception will help us continue to do the important work that we do.
