Human Needs Hero Event a Success!
Where can you meet some of the most passionate and powerful advocates in Washington and enjoy a piece of Wonder Woman cake at the same time? Only at CHN’s 2015 Human Needs Hero reception held last night honoring the National Women’s Law Center. We’re thrilled that the event was a huge success!
Presenters and special guests included Ellen Teller, Director of Government Affairs at the Food Research and Action Center (FRAC) and Chair of CHN’s Board of Directors; Helen Neuborne, Director of Quality Employment at the Ford Foundation; Tina Tchen, Chief of Staff to First Lady Michelle Obama and Assistant to President Obama; Sarah Bolton, Education Policy Director of the Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions (HELP) for Ranking Member Senator Patty Murray (D-WA); Reva Price, Outreach Director for House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA); and CHN’s very own Deborah Weinstein. Nancy Duff Campbell accepted the award on behalf of the staff of the National Women’s Law Center, many of whom were in attendance as well.
We were also so happy to be joined by over 150 coalition members and friends doing great work to fight poverty and inequality. Several of them took a minute out of socializing and enjoying the night to tweet about it:
Very excited to be celebrating @nwlc with @CoalitiononHN and all they do to fight #poverty

We’re grateful to our many sponsors of the event and all those who came out to support the work of CHN and honor the Law Center. See below for some event photos of our honored guests and a few the wonder women working with us to fight for human needs! If you weren’t able to make it but would like to help us continue our work, it’s not too late to donate. And, we hope you’ll join us next year when we honor another Human Needs Hero!
