Sandy’s SNAP Story

|

May 17, 2018

Editor’s note: The video below features Sandy, a volunteer with MomsRising. Sandy received SNAP while caring for her aging parents when they had back-to-back health emergencies, but the proposed work requirements in the Farm Bill would deeply harm families like hers if they are enacted. Watch her story below.

The House is poised to take up the Farm Bill – with disastrous cuts and work requirements for SNAP – as early as Friday, May 18th! Please CALL NOW – 1-888-668-8919 – and tell your Representative to “Vote NO on H.R. 2, the Farm Bill, because its rigid work rules and other restrictions will reduce or eliminate SNAP for millions of children, veterans, women, older people, and people needing treatment and/or with disabilities.” After a short message, you’ll be asked to enter your zip code and will connected to your Representative’s office. After you call, please take to Twitter and tell your Representative to keep Congress’ #HandsOffSNAP and spread the word. Find your Representative’s Twitter handle here, and learn more about the attacks on SNAP here
