On Wednesday, the Senate passed and President Trump signed the Families First Coronavirus Response Act, which will provide immediate paid sick leave and paid family leave to millions of people, expanded unemployment insurance, vital nutrition aid, more Medicaid funds for states, and free COVID-19 testing.

We know that this bill is just a first step toward supporting U.S. families through this national (and international) emergency. Passing legislation like this is essential to providing resources to U.S. families and building momentum to address the full ramifications of this public health emergency.

CHN is calling on all of our supporters write to their members of Congress right now and thank them for passing this critical legislation. We’ll need their continued support as we prepare for the next round of legislation, which must include direct payments to families and individuals amongst other critical services. (If your Senators or Representative voted NO, we’ve provided an appropriate message, asking for their support on the next COVID-19 response bill.)

Thank you for all that you do. These are unprecedented times. And we will get through this, together.
